Lakpahana had its beginning in Moratuwa in 1923 as a primary school. In 1952 the school moved to its present location in Mailapitiya and is located on a 150 acre coconut estate.
The school has grown into a well designed campus that contains an administration building, classrooms, boys and girls hostels and staff housing. There are a number of industrial building for our industries and vocational training programs.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
As Principal of Lakaphana it is my pleasure to serve a wonderful variety of students from many cultures and religions represented in Sri Lanka.
In a comfortable rural setting we provide both a quality education program and vocational training programs to prepare the students for life after school. Our faculty represent individuals from all religions and have been trained in institutions of learning around the world. More than 50% of our staff have obtained educational degrees at the BA, Masters a Doctoral level.
